I support my clients by letting them guide the process, focusing on their strengths, and being sensitive to any past trauma. I work alongside you at your own pace, providing a non-judgemental, safe space.
I use a variety of therapeutic approaches to help you. These include techniques for changing negative thought patterns, managing intense emotions, committing to personal values, processing traumatic memories, and improving relationship dynamics. Each approach is tailored to address your specific needs and situations effectively.
I like to describe counselling as a journey on a highway. You are in the driver’s seat, and I’m in the passenger seat beside you. You set the goal, guiding the direction of each session. You have the freedom to stop, change direction, or adjust your pace at any time. My role is to empower you, draw on your strengths, and support you on your journey.
In our sessions, I encourage you to share your experiences so we can explore coping strategies together. I will stay curious and encourage you to do the same. I will identify common behaviours and thinking patterns and share these insights with you. My goal is to help you achieve your goals and overcome any obstacles that may be in your way.
I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from London Metropolitan University in 2010 and worked as an independent domestic violence advocate for three years in West London. My counselling career began in Australia in 2015, supporting women, and continued in New Zealand in 2017, supporting youth and women. I have been a counsellor in Canada for over five years and am registered with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors. I have completed Play Therapy training with the Justice Institute of BC and am a registered provider for the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), Metis Nation of BC (MNBC) and the SPCA Cruelty Investigatory Team
